Frequently Asked Questions

Here are answers to some of the most commonly asked questions folks have as they consider beginning our work together

Do you accept Insurance?

No, I do not.  Invoices are provided every session and Superbills are issued monthly so that you may submit them to your insurance companies for reimbursement if you have coverage for Out of Network providers.

How much will therapy cost?

  • Individual sessions  (45 minutes) =  $150

  • Family/Partner/Multipartner sessions (60 minutes) = $200.

  • I offer a limited number of sessions at a lower rate based on financial need, as I believe that ability to pay for care should not be a barrier to receiving it. At present, these spots are full.

  • You will be issued a Good Faith Estimate when we begin working together, in accordance with the No Surprises Billing Act

I'm in crisis, can I see you sooner?

No; My practice is not equipped to provide immediate crisis care. If you are in an acute crisis—including experiencing active suicidal thoughts or a mental health emergency—you deserve immediate, specialized support. For that reason, I am unable to accept new clients who are in a state of acute crisis.

If you are in need of crisis services, please seek a higher level of care.

  • You can call or text the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by dialing 988. It's free, confidential, and available 24/7.

  • You can also contact your insurance provider's member support for an in-network referral to a crisis center or an intensive outpatient program.

  • For urgent care and referrals, you can also visit your local urgent care center or emergency room.

What can I expect for our first session?

It's normal to feel a bit nervous before we meet. My goal is to create a comfortable space where we can see if we're a good fit. We will talk about what inspired you to reach out and begin therapy, and what you hope to cultivate. You get to decide what you'd like to share. I’ll give you a clear idea of my approach and answer any questions you have. While I take my clients and the work we do seriously, I include a good bit of playfulness into sessions where appropriate! By the end of our session, my hope is that you'll come away with a good idea of what our collaboration could look like.

What is your therapeutic approach?

My therapeutic approach is grounded in a deep belief in your innate capacity for growth and seeks to [re]center you in your own experience.  Drawing from humanistic, integrative, poly-vagal and attachment-focused principles, I offer anti-oppressive care, wherein I'm happy to creatively adapt our sessions to ensure our work is able to be internalized by you in a way that works best with your brain and body. That may mean we decide to include voice memos, visualizations, special interests, or session summaries.
